That's a monsterous PF re-raise. Would not 200 do the job?

This is tough, because it's a $15, and you can't really give him credit for having a brain.

You kinda have to call though with 720 in there. I call, but I think I am beat. I just pray he has TT or is a total donk with AK. 44 is also *possible*.

If calling this a/i makes you ill, you probably should have checked the flop. It's not like he has a 4. Of course, if an A or K flops you will be REALLY ill.

Your mistake originally here is raising too much. If you raise 200 (still healthy) you probably get the exact same call + original raiser fold. Even if it's 3 way, that just means you have to check/fold 2 over cards to your JJ.

With pot at 545 instead of 745, you can lead with 250 instead of 420, and can make a case for folding.

Or, since it's a $15 he probably had 99 and YHIG!

yeah - I don't play JJ that hard, especially early. I would have probably just called the original raise, or raised to ~200 as zenbitz said, and hoped for no overcards or to hit a set. I also would check that flop and see what the other players have to say. I like to keep pots small in the early going, unless I fill up to a monster. I play JJ more like TT than KK - and I think you played it like KK here.

I get aggressive with it in the later stages.

i dont like reraising with jacks from a UTG raiser (this early in the tourny). call and see a flop, you have position.

Agreed, unless UTG is a known idiot, you want to keep the pot small at this point.
