Default nl100 Blind war w/ tpnk

How's my line? Advice on all streets welcome. Am I going too far with TPNK in a blind war, or do I have the best hand here probably?

    MP ($75.35)

I hate blind wars, but I like what Miffed says. I had almost the same situation yesterday. The guy reraised my flop bet probably to send me a message not to steal his blind. I reraised and he folded. Now if he reraised or called, then I know I have to play the rest of the hand cautiously. Seems like you get the same information at a cheaper price without letting him see another card.

Yeah, but his reaction will make the turn an easy check/fold unless you hit a 7 or heart. I have no problem giving him the pot if he proceeds to the turn....unless I can read something from his play.

No real history here, he seemed like a solid player though. I certainly don't think he has a random holding here.

He ended up folding the turn, but I just wanted to see how this play was. I was reviewing a few hands after this session, and the hand I posted here kind of concerned me. First, the turn c/r was too small. Being OOP here on the river is going to suck with this hand and this sized pot... like I said though, thankfully he folded.

Second, this is a pretty nice flop for a blind war, but it seems like a situation where I'm going to win a small pot or lose a big one. OOP with TPNK and lots of agression can be a recipe for disaster even in a blind war. My hand has a lot of value at showdown but I feel my line was such that the only hands villain will go the distance with here have me smoked. Being OOP exaggerates this concern dramatically, as it's going to be more costly to see a showdown if indeed I am beat. Just checking...

Hmm. I don't really like your turn line here. First of all, what is the exact purpose of the small turn CR? You pretty much never fold out better hands, so you either snap off bluffs or build a big pot OOP against a better hand. If he's on a bluff or betting with 6x or a mid pocket pair, why not call the turn and let him take another shot at it on the river? A check/check river would be great also, as your hand will almost always be good in this situation. Let's look at the case where he has a better hand than yours, like K with a better kicker or trips/boat. If he 3-bets you on the turn, then obviously it's an easy fold. However, with a hand like 2x or 66, I think he calls the CR a good percentage of the time, with the intention of pushing over your river bet, which by that time you will have invested a good chunk of your stack and are getting decent pot odds to call.

The only reason I would employ a turn CR like you did is if I knew villian was a total fish and would pay me off with a worse hand or if villian was a very tricky lag capable of pushing this river with a bluff and a monster with nearly equal efficiency after you call the turn bet. If I were to play it, I would either lead the turn for $10-12 or check/call and either block the river or check/call again, or of course fold.

I would like to keep the pot small here and your line is just asking for trouble, I agree with bdawg about the turn CR reasonings.

    PF ok
    flop ok
    c/c turn
c/c or value bet river, call if raised
