    The technique/effect is called trompe l'oeil. And this guy is quite good at it.

    yah, I like hte paintings on flat sides of buildings that are like this, they make them look like crazy roman archetecture. Theres also a guy that does acrylic paintings of candles and thier holders.. he does it on like electrical boxes and the square bottom part of light poles. Its really amazing.. it looks like lit candles.
