Default Possible flush completes on turn, I'm short stack with TP?

This is $5 PS. If you have comments on the play that's fine. My question is a little more general here. This situation is probably my biggest leak right now. What happens when you make a near pot bet, get one caller, then the flush draw completes?

I went through a phase where I didn't bet here, and the hand would get checked down and they have 2nd pair or something. I can't bet at the pot because my stack is too short. If I check and he bets big can I just let this go? What if he value (or min) bets? I hate letting the hand go just because 3 to a flush come, > 50% of the time they have the flush. Any suggestions?

With A6s, I would have pushed AI from the BB against a limper and the SB completing. A6 is a strong hand 4-handed, don't let them see the flop (and potentially outdraw you) for cheap.

If I didn't push PF I would have pushed the flop - since nobody else raised PF I don't think you can put them on a better ace. As played, I think the turn push is fine - there are plenty of hands that would have called your flop bet at the $5.50 level - middle pair, a small pocket pair like 33/44, a gutshot straight draw, etc. Plus, if opp has just one diamond, checking just gives them another chance to hit their flush.

Raise preflop, get an idea on what opp has.

I fold on his turn push

    Table is loose-agressive.

I didn't push pre-flop, because I have some breathing room from the blinds and someone would have called. I can wait for a better situation than 55-45 (possibly worse if they have 88, 99).

If I hadn't been in the BB I would have folded this hand given my stack. My problem with pushing is that I think the flush draw calls. A thinking player won't believe I have an A, a fish thinks he had the nuts. I only have a 60-40 lead. I guess I should be happy with a 60-40 at this point.

If you push and a flush draw calls, that's a fine thing...you win at life and poker. Don't forget to factor in the fold equity a push would have.

As for the hand itself, if I was confident that the button limp was not a slowplay, I'd just push preflop.

He made it on implied, took your stack. Still, he's losing gobs if he doesn't make it on the turn, so you're fine here. It's rough, but adjust your play here to bet about 1/3 the turn pot - you're rarely giving odds to call with a single diamond, and if they push over you can generally fold with confidence.

If you want an easy fix, calculate his implied odds using your entire stack size, and bet an amount on the flop that doesn't give him the correct odds to call. Even easier, push and hope a draw chases. 4 handed, I am raising preflop, pushing with 600 in the pot and 2200 left in my stack. Yes you may pay the price, but you will not gett called often enough to make it -EV. By now you should have some kind of read on button, and pushing will certainly pay off in the form of people folding around to your blinds in future rounds.
