Default WHEN TO MOVE UP IN SnGO BUY IN?

    Looking for some sound advice...

I only play SnG's NLHE...Single and MTT...in $5 buy ins I place 85% of the time in the money...and of those 85% I finish 2nd or win the table 75% of the time...on top of that I play on Party, Pacific, PokerRoom, Titan, Stars (because I like the range of competition) and I find equal success on all those sites.
I also occasionally play $10 buy - ins and at this level (although I do not play as often as I do the $5) I also find my self consistently in the money...for ex. 18 person seaters on Stars or even 27 persons...or single SnG...
I have also played the 180 person SnG on Stars, and out of 6 of them, my best finish was 10 and 13.
Not to make this sound like a resume, but I am hoping that some of you more experience players may look at this and either tell me to stick to $10..or recommend a next level up...thank you!
I like to make money, but I personally do it more for the competion and the "sport" of NLHR ...

It depends on your bankroll. Play at the level in which you have 20 or 30 buy-ins (30 is preferrable). You should also play at a level at which you feel comfortable, but that is secondary to bankroll rules. Always have at LEAST 20 buy-ins.

Read this post about bankroll management if you haven't done so already.

85% ITM is not a sustainable winrate. How many sngs have you participated in to come up with this stat?

Even if you are a terrific player, your itmrate in the long run won't be more than about 45 percent or so, and at 45 percent you'd be killing the game.

ROI is much more important than ITM anyway.

    Thanks,

Renton, I started noticing a string of success so I decided to track my ITM rate based on 2 sets of 10 SnGOs each...in other words, out of 10 SnGOs I finished ITM 85% of the time...and manage the same in the second set of 10.

Courtbie, you make a very good point about ROI...it makes me think to stick to the $5 or $10 BuyIn but play more MTTable...

for small bankrolls MTTs should be a no-no.

Variance is WAY to high to be a dependable bankroll builder. Of course, play the occasional MTT since they're so fun, but don't count on them for money.

Thanks Renton...one more question a bit out of subject:

I was just curious if you may know at what level of Buy-In in SnGOs do online players who win the 500K Guarantee Party type tournaments or any other high stake online tournament play? Is there a connection between the two?
I guess what I am trying to say is that if you are able to graduate to $50 or $100 SnGO buy in and ITM on a consistent basis...would this be a sign that its time to play more tournaments such as 500K guarantee? Given your skill level? and thus giving you a confident shot at the money?

STOP CAPITALIZING ALL OF UR TOPICS.

Moving up depends on your Bankroll and your confidence level.
wats ur BR at? hav u heard of the word "variance"?

Just becuase u can beat the 50s and 100s does not meant that u are ready for the 500k MTT. They require different skillsets.
