Default Playing marginal hands against LAGs

5/10 Bodog. I get dealt 77 on the button in a 4-handed game. LAG on my right, who I just stacked with my aces the last hand (he had middle pair which he turned) limps in, I raise to $40, 2 folds, guy on my right calls.
Flop comes 3s-4s-6d. the guy checks, I bet $55, he check-raises to $160. I call. Turn comes a Kh. Guy instantly goes all in for around $800. Call or fold? Also, would you play any differently had you not stacked him with aces the hand before?

seems like a weird line for a set.. If your image is tightish he might expect you to have a K but that insta-AI doesnt support the idea that he was really interested on the turn card. I am not sure whether to call or fold here, he might have a weird two pair but he is playing that way too fast IMO. perhaps 65/76?

I usually play the same, I might, on the other hand even check that flop for pot control against a guy I just destacked because he will be playing back at you a lot and I wouldnt wanna play a big pot with 77 w/o hitting a set..

I could see KQs being played this way.

Board had 2 spades. That's what happens when you don't proofread.

I wouldn't call either. That's not a nice situation to be sticking your money in. I personally wouldn't raise it preflop either though. 77 is a hand I'd rather just fish a set with, even on button. If all unders come like this, that's when you start playing some poker.

Its a 4-handed 5/10 game, you will get run over if you play this weak.

"Get your money in when a better situation presents itself" is an argument I hear often, and I think it hardly has any merit. Poker is a game based on reads and percentages, with an emphasis on the former. In this case, I felt I was either way behind or a 2-1 favorite (a flushdraw w/ 2 overcards to my sevens). I knew it was unlikely he would play 88-QQ like this. His actions were consistent with a big draw, and I didn't think the king helped him- there's no reason for him to play even AK that fast, wouldn't he want 77-QQ staying now once he hit? It was $800 to call into what would be a 2k pot, I only had to be right more than 2 out of 5 times for the call to be correct. I was confident he would have a flush draw (without a king) here at least half the time, so the pot was laying me good enough odds to justify a thin call. I called, he flipped over 6s-9s, the river came a queen (3s-4s-6d-Kh-Qh), and I took down the pot with my sevens. His insta-AI was just begging for a fold, I just couldn't let go of my monster.

I am slowly, slowing learning to recognize the c/r (called by hero) all in as a move.

I think because why I might c/r bluff, I am not likely to follow it up with a push, figuring villians have to call at this point.

Given that... is there merit to playing AK/KK like villian plays 69s in this hand? Clearly "all in will only get called by better hands" DOES NOT apply! I suppose we are all r/r pKK and probably AK pre-flop 4-handed.

I wonder how good villian has to be to call the push with 2nd pair here?

Power moves are relative to the player in their meaning obviously. Relative to the player and the villain tendancies, running image. Therefore I think a recognition needs to be multilayered. Make sure you know what he expects you to do before making a choice.

I only played 1000NL one time, and played very TAGG. A couple times people reraised me as a mistake for reading me nitty, when I was just getting my feet wet. One guy open pushed a blank river for my $800 stack after the turn completed a flush and I checked behind. I evaluated my image and decided I was too tight for this guy not to extract value instead of pushing a made flush in this spot. I had too much respect for that. he was playing against my tight image. I snapped him off and doubled up.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

Disregard my post. I thought it was a full ring game.
