Default Questions for my first live MTT

I've never played NL live, only limit. I will be playing my first live MTT this weekend. I just have a few questions.

When I announce a raise, do I have to put all the chips in at once. Or can I just put out the original bet first then decide what I want to raise?

When I go all in, do I have to physically push my chips into the pot, or do I just say "all in" then push my chips into the pot if I get called.

That's all I can think of right now, if you guys have anything to share about your first live MTT experience, I would like to hear it.

It usually depends on how strict the dealer is, if you're sitting infront of a greg raymer stack of chips, just say all in.

Found this yesterday. The answer to your question sounds like "Depends on the house rulls". But this may help?

    1. You can put in the amout to call as long as you declare your raise first. It also helps to state the amount you're going to raise before putting the raise in the pot to avoid string betting. Once you declare the amount, that's it. You don't have to worry about string betting, because you're held to that amount.

    2. You can just say all in. People push their chips in for various reasons (intimidation, it feels/looks cool, etc.). But if you get called, you will have to push your chips in and the dealer should count them down for you.

    3. Expect a lot of donkeys. I played a $200 MTT sponsered by a local sports radio show and the play was horrendous. It was about the level of a $20 MTT on PokerStars. It is also much easier to spot who knows what they are doing and who doesn't than it is online. Also, PROTECT YOUR CARDS. When you're involved in a hand, put a chip over your cards. If someone accidentally mucks their cards on yours and your hand is unprotected, your hand is ruled dead. Also, the dealer might mistake an unprotected hand as a folded hand and could grab your cards from in front of you. Just make sure you have them protected to avoid all these problems.
