Default Picked up a new 20" Samsung

    204B

I almost bought a Dell 2001FP until I read some reviews how they aren't that great for gaming. Even though I don't do all that much gaming, I do dabble a bit here and there.

Well, I went from a 17" Hansol to this 20" beast. There is 5"+ more viewing area with this monitor.

The day after I almost bought the Dell I noticed Futureshop had these on sale. I went to the nearest store and got an open boxed one for $30 less. $570 all said and done.

One thing that I have noticed though, is that on Party, there is a bunch of extra space around the window that wasn't there when I used my 17". Paradise fits fine, but Party overlaps due to this when 4 tabling.

Congrats, you spent 2 weeks complaining about the price of a good poker monitor, and you went out and got a monitor that you can't even 4 table.

Edit: Apparently you can 4 table, but you just can't type coherent posts.

My dell had this problem, I will check to see what I did to correct it. Check the fonts --- should be set on normal --- I don't think that fixed it but something to try. It def. something in the display settings, that issue can be corrected.

ake is correct its the dpi setting, Display properties -- settings -- advanced -- set DPI to normal

I don't know what's up your ass, but please pull it out and calm the fuck down.

Excuse me for researching monitors and prices before dropping $600 on something that might either be too expensive, or not going to suit my needs. It's called being an informed consumer.

I don't mean to one-up you.....but I just bout TWO of these last night for $449.99 apiece ($967 after taxes). It's a long story about how I got them so cheap, but in the end I ended up getting Best Buy to price-match some crappy off-brand monitor that Costco had. I win.

I also had the same problem with the black border on the right side and bottom of my Party tables....do like everyone else says, change your dpi. Call Party Poker and some Indian lady will help you out, that's what I had to do, lol. Or, PM me and I'll write you up a walk-through of what they had me do.

    Enjoy your monitor....it kicks ass.

Keep in mind you are in the US and I'm in Canada. Our computer prices don't even come close to yours. You did get the better of the 2 deals though. Nice pick-up.

See, this is what I was frustrated by. Do you realize that this part right here has nothing to do with my reply?

It has everything to do with it. My other posts were to find out info and prices on the Dell 2001fp. After being warned that it was not the best price I could get on it, I held off. The very next day I got twice the monitor in this Samsung as what the Dell was.

my 30" dell ultrasharp is amazing. I can 9-table with no overlap, and in the process of doing that last night, I dropped 3 buyins in a bit over an hour. Obviously I turned the res back down to something more reasonable and I'm 4 tabling atm.

you do realize that running lcds in non native res is stupid right?

I'm interested as well. 2560x1600 is well, incredibly small. Too small to do anything useful save for say, 9-tabling.

sigh lcdss have a fixed resolution for a reason and if you set it to anything else your monitor will have to scale to it. this decreases life span and will cause lag from your monitor.

its a bad idea and id suggest you return the 30" and get 2 24s/3 20s/whatever if it is too high for you. there is absolutely no reason to be running an lcd in non native.
  26. #26
right... I thought there was a reason that they say "native res", but when this came up before everyone assured me that this wanst true. But yah I agree... theres no value in a 30" to me, I mean its cool, looks cool on your desk, but for what? Its not good for games, cuz the most top of the line system, overclocked to hell, coudlnt run games on it well at that res. And if you just want desktop space, you can get like 4 20inchers for that price, and you get WAY more desktop space that way.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.
