Kind of an odd overbet on the flop. At this stage it's set it or forget it with 88, so I would muck it, but no doubt these guys are donks possibly playing high cards poorly.

I've come back to this hand a couple times and I'm still on the fence whether to raise or fold the flop here. He's on the BB so he could just have tpgk/tpnk.

But then he could of just hit the bb special, or if someone else has something behind you (like sp3 calling) or someone ahead of you check/raising, you are just wasting chips with 88 this early. So I dunno, I'd like to see what others say...I'm leaning fold just because you can prolly outplay them later when there's chips out there to get.

I dump this to the overbet even though you might well be ahead here. To me the only other option is to raise to something like 500 - but with two active players plus the original better still to act the risk of getting re-raised (in which case you obviously have to dump it) or called (in which case it is check/fold the turn unless you hit an 8) is not worth it at this early stage IMO.

If blinds were something like 75/150 and I was in the situation (which I wouldn't be because I would have raised my 8s PF) I might consider pushing over but at 10/20 I'm not burning more than a third of my stack on this.

    Drinking your milkshake.
I often see two pair overbet out of the blinds like this in low stakes SnG's.

I remember a while back I posted a similar type situation and seem to think the general consensus was that, once you limp with a pocket pair for set value, you lose the right to play it as an overpair.

In this situation, you have only invested 20 chips so I begrudgingly fold, watch what crap gets flipped up here and just sit back and wait until the blinds and pots are really worth playing for before I start making really tough decisions for big portions of your stack.

If I were the first one to bet on the flop I MAY consider putting out a probe bet, but there is no way I would get into a battle with that hand this early in the tourny.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.

No set no bet. To early in the tourny to be messing with id 10 t's. Save it for another hand dude. I put him on a overpair or two pair to your 8's. Look at the guys name (bigslop) WTF?

If it had checked to you I'd bet the overpair, but you've got to fold to the big flop bet.
