I put CO on 88, or (much less likely A8). The minraise on the flop is just begging for a call. I think I play it the same as you.

CO's betting pattern suggests 88. The only thing I do differently here (which probably would have ended in the same result as you did anyway) is push the flop.

I could also see CO having AQ or AJ (probably suited). If I were in the CO with that hand and the second A hits on the flop I would have a hard time putting my opponent on AK.

He showed for a full house 3's full of A's and I was out in 10'th place. I also thought maybe 88, but not 33.
Can I get away at any point here, or do I just pay him and start a new SnG like I did? I mean the texture of the flop indicates a set quite strongly since there are no draws, right?

In a Party Poker (before new Party) structure you pay him. On average, in SNGs, pay him. But I think at some point you need to think more about pot manipulation when you're raising less than 10% of your stack preflop.

This is why you can either raise less preflop, and play weak tight, or raise more preflop, and pressure your opponent improved (and sometimes not) on the flop.

I like when people use the raise button. When it just doubles my bet in 2. First of all I never raise double. I will raise double and half to two times what my opponent bet if I raise. Like scuba said, you can manipulate the pot by teasing it, massaging it, keeping it within your standards. However; if you had any type of feeling like you were beat, ie; he raised you twice.... You have to say to yourself I will showdown for say 200 in chips and thats it, anything more and maybe you can lay it down with some discipline. If people are using the raise button, put in a smaller bet on the turn it will cost you less if they do click it. And maybe just maybe, they will just call your 200 bet or whatever you want to bet on the river if your first to act. For the dude to call a 120 raise with 3's is ridculous, but looking at the board and his actions after the flop it should had came to mind.

Proof that there are idiots even at the $22 level.

I am not sure I could have gotten away from this hand is I wouldn't put him on 33 and would have paid off 88.

I'd call if I was the CO all day long pre flop. You'll meet a lot more of these 'idiots' beyond the 20s where people understand implied odds. You think this guy would have given Borax his whole stack if the flop came A28?

Mostly if you raise AK and make TP, you're going to go broke with it. Having said that, you might slow down after the flop and look to show cheap. You're either way ahead or way behind, there isn't much he can be drawing to.
