Default ShortStack, QQ, two players before you

I guy I work with was asking about this situation. He didn't have all the details, so this is kinda made up, but it's close.

    Blinds: t100/t200

    Stack sizes:
    Cutoff: t800
    Button: t4000
    SB: t4000
    Hero: t1200

    Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is BB with Q Q
Cutoff folds, Button raises to t1000, SB calls t1000, Hero???

He said the button was raising a ton and the SB wasn't playing many hands at all. I figure Button has Ax, at best, and SB has pp smaller than a Q. If it was AA, KK I think he re-raises. So I figure, if an A comes SB folds, if an A doesn't come Button goes broke. If I'm Hero I call thinking I will triple up. He says fold, let them eliminate each other for a guaranteed payout (standard SnG 1,2,3). Isn't a call here standard?

    Actual Hands:
    Button has Ac Kh
    SB has TsTc

I'm pretty confident you rate to have the best hand at the moment.

Call, stick the rest in on the flop.

No question Hero calls here. There's absolutely no guarantee that either Button or SB goes out on this hand, and even though CO is slightly shorter stacked than Hero, if he doubles up he's back in the game.

This was my first thought too. I can't decide how much I want those other 400 chips.

I can't see any fold for 200 more being correct and I've seen a lot of really stupid folds.

Yes I agree. Lots of stupid folds with 5345847894654654 odds. But they happen, and I was implying that I might want to guarantee the other 400 chips.

I'd rather see them fold to a 200 chip bet than bloat the pot. However, with AA/KK I think I'd rather just get it all in pre-flop.

Easy call. If you had 200 chips and both other players went All In then we'd have a discussion.
What's the difference between a large cheese pizza and a poker player?

A large cheese pizza can feed a family of four.

I guess I meant is a push here (for an extra 200) standard. (Not very important.)

Hero pushed, the Button re-raised all-in and the SB called. If you could expect this the Button push, I think it pushing yourself is best because you would either be heads-up, or one of the big stacks would get eliminated.

Fold QQ preflop 4-handed and short-stacked? Obviously this isn't an option.

I raise it up. If one of them folds I think that's better for me. 2000 chips to help you take 1st or second is generally much more profitable, and you've sweetend the pot considerably for an elimination post flop.

Read the stack sizes. Hero only has 200 chips behind him after the raise. Isn't push/fold his only option?

Well apparently some of the people here think that they could fold to a $200 bet into a $3000 pot.

Don't forget, pushing gives the other two an opportunity to push over preflop and one of them fold out preflop (which would be great regardless of what they had). Esp. great when a smaller pp pushes and makes an unpaired over hand fold.

Huh? Hero's push is an under-raise. Doesn't that mean that the others get no option of reraising?

An under-raise is still a raise.

It's been a long time, but I remember reading posts where Hero raises to 10 less than the smallest stack, then if small stack goes all-in Hero can push over top of everyone else.
