How do you play this mtt?

As I see it, there are two ways to play it:

1. Don't initially rebuy, and gamb00l in your first buyin, big stack or bust. If you do bust, take your rebuy and play normally.

2. Rebuy at the start, and play it as a deeper stack mtt.

I've only played one of these, and went with the initial rebuy.

Thoughts?

I played one today, I rebought right away and it turned out to be an advantage because I landed a big hand against a relevant stack and doubled to 6k.

Rebuy right away, then play it like a FO, taking the addon durning the first break.

you can instantly tell who is a fish and who isn't because they don't re buy right away.

You can't play exactly like a freeze out because some people weirdly do just gambool the first one, which doesn't make any sense but means you may have a couple uncomfortable calls to make. also it sucks when you get moved early in this tourney since you don't know who has done what.

I hate this tourney, the prize pool is never quite good enough (like a 30FO, except they pay too many places), but the play is so bad and the stacks deep enough that somtimes I can't resist.

I actually really like this tourney, probably because I've FT'd it twice though. I makes for a deeper stacked FO w/o the insanely long 30 minute blind levels. I haven't played it in awhile, but I always re-bought right away, and like WildBob said, pretty much played it like a regular FO. Even if you get absolutely cold decked the first hour and don't play a single hand, after you add-on you'll still have 4K+ at the break which still gives you plenty of room to play.

Unless they changed it, the payout structure is no different for the same number of entrants in a $30 FO, so I dont know no where drmcboy is coming from. It usually has around 800-900 entrants and 1st is typically around 5K which makes it worth playing to me. Many good players regularly play the $10 R/A's, but deon't enter this one.
