    Default AA Hand, your play?

This is prettu standard, but my buddy and I have been debating how the hand went down, so I wanted to throw it out there for opinion from some FTR folds.

30 person live MTT. Blinds are 25-50. I have about 1400 chips.

UTG player is known to me. He's competant, but likes to play small pot poker and see flops. My agressive betting style tends to rub him the wrong way (maybe not relevant, but possibly useful info?). Anyway, UTG minraises to 100. Folds around to me in the cutoff, and I look down to find rockets. I reraise to 300.

buttonis unknown to me, her first time at this game, and she smooth calls. She has about 1800 chips, having won a pot earlier with top two pair.

SB and BB fold. Pot is 975 Flop comes 10 10 7 rainbow. UTG checks.

Obviously, any pot size bet here commits me, so whats my play?

maybe 600? You don't want to be committed? If you put in 600 and get raised, can you fold?

button's cold-call is most likely a pp, in which case you're in great shape. I'm betting 600 hoping for a call or raise so I can go in.

lefou if your going to push if someone raises why not just push to begin with?

as to this hand I am going to probably lose all my chips if someone has a 10 but I would jam here.

My guess is your rockets got screwed or else you wouldn't have posted it. But this is an MTT so I don't see how you are getting away from this hand here.

Since you only have about 1100 chips left and the pot is at about 1000, your options are to bet half your stack knowing you will call any reraise and push any call on the turn, or just push the flop.

If you are really scared of the board, you can check and just see how your opp's play it out. But you are good too often here, IMO, to fold. So I probably do the 1/2 stack bet on the flop hoping to get as much action as possible and if I lose, oh well.

wwonka - the reason not to push this hand is because if you are all-in regardless, then you want to get as much value as possible if you are ahead.

If you are behind, a push will be insta-called. If you are ahead, a push has a bigger chance of making your opp's fold. So a push gets you either knocked out, or the worst chance of getting the most amount of chips possible.

Thanks thats what I though. My rockets didn't screwed, I actually got payed off by KK from the unknown player. PLayer UTG had JJ and folded to my bet and her call, and has been telling me since then thinks I should have tried harder to suck him into the hand also.

I think Chard's line is the best here.

I'd make a weak looking cbet representing overcards and hope for a push of any pair. Added advantage about this small bet is that it sets up cheap cbets when your AK misses later.
