Yea, I think you have to call the odds are too good.

    why?

Im pretty sure he doesnt have an ace, so that means the only card that beats me is a PP higher than 8, or a 8x.

Given this range of hands I am ahead enough of the time that calling with these pot odds will net me a profit.

    Right?

Blind vs Blind I see no compelling reason to fold any pair here.

Wild Ass Guess: He shows you KK. Nothing like Cowboys to inspire this higher level of play.

a bet here would seem like a good thing to do. Any thoughts?

I can see the logic in not betting the turn, he lead out on the flop and then called your raise, however there are a few possibilities for his hand that warrent a bet on the turn. Although I wouldn't put him on an A, he could have a 6 with a higher kicker or could be on a str8 or flush draw.

The card on the turn wouldn't have helped either one of these and by not betting you just gave him a free card so complete on the river. If he was on a str8 draw the 5 may have helped him, but at this point I would probably be inclined to make the crying call.
Poker is easy, it's winning at poker that's hard.
