Default $6T: JJ in BB early

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    MP3 (t1480)
    CO (t1280)
    Button (t2020)
    SB (t1220)
    Hero (t1500)
    UTG (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t1500)
    MP1 (t1500)
    MP2 (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J, J.
    UTG raises to t60, 3 folds, MP3 calls t60, CO calls t60, 2 folds, Hero calls t40.

    Flop: (t250) T, 5, 9 (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets t80, MP3 raises to t180, CO calls t180, Hero raises to t1440...

    Good or bad?

Why not raise to ~ 750? I would think that you increase the chances of a hand like QJ/78 donking it up with you, which would be nice. It's possible hands like AT/KT are calling you down, besides just 99/TT or 55. Anyway, if this is one of your only questions on your game, you're doing fine.

I think you can lay this one down. You only have 60 chips committed to the pot. You're facing a bet, raise, and call with the original raiser (who may well have an overpair) left to act. I know this is a $6 and all three could be donking it up, but you only have 60 chips invested in the pot, so I think I let it go.

This concern would be more true if you were worried about the PFR, IMO. I think you have to put people on hand ranges to decide if folding here is good/best.

I'll assume you mean raise 200, so betting t380.

Do some odds calculations. Come back with what you've come up with.

I think he meant leading the flop for 200. That might give us a better idea of where we are on this hand. If we still get a raise, reraise, and call, then it's an easy laydown.

As played, I still like folding the flop.

    Results:

    Everyone folded.

Just don't see a good way to play it this early. Reraising preflop is dangerous, I don't want to call a push. Leading the flop is dangerous, all 3 types of hands (dominating, dominated, draws) all probably just call. I don't see any other good options besides checking and seeing what develops. In this situation, I felt that all the involved players were weak so I shoved and it worked.
