*** FLOP *** [Jd Jc 8s]
TbHackworth: bets 900
dochandorach: folds
JOKER777: calls 900
TbHackworth: goes into check fold mode
That was my initial thought on the flop. He could be limping QJ types here, as well as any pair. I don't want to try and guess later whether his PP is TT or 77.
Now, when the 8 comes, obv the question is J/no J. It is very tough for me to believe someone who smooth called the flop with a J is now going to raise after making the full, so we toss that out when he raises. If he had smooth called you here I would slow it WAAAY down, because you're either beat or splitting, or he has QQ+ and will look to show it down cheap.
So we're just left with re-raise or call the turn, since we are now assuming we have the best hand. also, we are OOP for the river. If opp has nothing we would rather smooth call, but that forces a river check to hope he bets, and we lose value from PP hands. If opp has an 8, we want to raise hoping maybe he'll fold. if opp has PP, we want to raise here IMO because he won't bet the river and may call. Also, you don't give him a free draw he has something like 99.
Given the way the hand was played, it seems unlikely he has nothing. If he has PP or an 8, we want to raise, so I think you played perfectly.
