I think I might gamble here...even if you lose you aren't even shorstacked with the blinds at 10/20. Best case scenario your dominating, worse case scenario your flipping. Given that its a $2 MTT you might be against some donk too

never fold ace king except in extreme circumstances

ziddy, hahaha but seriously, your choice here. I say take this donk for a ride. I bet you're flipping vs. QQ, and it's a great chance to become very strong early and try to ride through.

probably -ev in the long run though.

This is actually the only time where folding AK is not such a horrible move.

You might be dominating some hands, you might be facing KK or AA; but probably you are facing a smaller pair. So equity wise this comes out to a coin toss.

I'd much rather push over someone's preflop raise with AK than simply call their all-in with it at this stage.

It's a flip. Reraise to isolate.

How it played out for those interest:

I also pushed all in , everyone folded, guy flips 22 and the 2's hold up vs AK.

Thats the way it goes, I stayed in for a while before getting eliminated in 60-ish place out of 220? something like that.

    Oh well.

Easy fold. Not much value here in a call. How many times have we all posted something like "This might be a good spot to just randomly shove in with AA, some donk may call you with crap because it's early"

In this hand, you're that donk. Recognize you're getting 1/1 here from the pot. If you think there is a better chance he makes this play unpaired than with KK/AA it's an OK, but eh, call. If the numbers are more like AQ or worse 5 %, flip 80 %, AA/KK 15 %, this call sucks. You are a dog to 22, 2/1ish over most non A hands... I can't find a reason to make this play. Also, you don't close the action - if someone wakes up with AA/KK behind you're screwed.

Now, if he's done this twice already, that would be something different. First time around, I have no heartache folding AK here.

It is early in a $2 MTT. So I'm leaning more towards the call being on the "gooder" side (especially since you have the all-inner outstacked), but as I said before, a fold here is definitely fine.
