No HH, though this post was prompted by a stupid play I made a few days ago.

I hold JJ in MP in Level 3 and open/bet a 3x BB 150. Next man minimum raises to 250, everyone folds and I call to see the flop 2 handed. I started the hand with around 1500 chips, villain with 2000. The table ends up something like T8256 with no 3 flush and after a slow start (we both checked the flop) I gave away far too many chips to his KK.

The point of all this is that I was almost sure he had Aces or Kings after the min raise and only saw the flop to try to catch a set. I got what I deserved for changing my mind later. How often in sngs between say $11 and $55 does this show Aces or Kings? You can give different estimates for different buy-in amounts if you wish - in $55's I'd go for 85% of the time.

At later levels as the blinds increase then the relationship between bet sizes and stack sizes probably changes this but during the first 3 levels at least, I'd say the min raise is like turning your cards face up for the rest of the hand.

Opinions?
