I read this guy for KK or QQ with the K or Q of clubs, new player so no reads on calling standards, even the average $10 NL player folds here, I made a note on this guy as "don't try to bluff ths guy". I think this is a good positional play against the average player, even at the $10 NL. Even this guy had to think for the maximum amount of time before calling. I had been showing nothing but big hands since this guy sat down. As soon as he bet the flop I knew he didn't have an ace and planned to steal the pot. Unfortunately this guy that would pay me off every time left before I got another big hand against him. 4 players commented "I can't believe you called" or something similar. It was good advertising anyways because I got payed off on a few more big hands later. 90% of the time when I make a bet like this I've got a monster. I made eneugh today to move upto $25 NL, maybe when I get to 100 NL players won't make these sick calls on me when I make a perfect read on their hand.

I don't bluff too often in $10 NL, for obvious reasons, but when I make a read on a player for a certain hand and I'm confident in my read, and I know that I would fold their hand, I'll definately take a shot at it.

I fundamentally disagree that "the the average $10 NL player folds [their wired Kings] when the flop has an ace". Especially as you didn't re-raise him preflop.

But yeah you bet strongly and there's a nice spot to fold KK right there.

Raise less to make it look like you want him to call.

The turn raise was good, as he bet less than he had been betting, but I'm not surprised that he called with the Nut flush draw.

The river raise SCREAMS bluff; I probably would've called with KK here also, unless I was sure that you would make a bet like that with teh nutz. The raise looks like you are trying to buy the pot, which is exactly what you are doing. Another raise to 1.20-1.50, would make it much easier to lay down kings here as it looks like a value bet with an A or the flush.

As villian I would never put you on an A, as you didn't raise the coordinated flop. You raised the scare card on the turn with what could at best be 2nd nuts since I have the king, and then you try to blow me out of the water on the river. Both an A and a flush should bet less hoping for a call here unless player knows I would call a "Nuts-Bluff" overbet.

I don't think any of your bets were out of line or improper as stated by other posters. Your river raise is fine, it looks like you don't want to give him a .20 showdown.

However, if he's going to fold the river after he misses the NFD, it's probably not going to take $4. He's probably not going to lead either...

You told a horribly bad story. Two clubs came out on the flop and you "called" 35¢ 4 handed. Therefore, you don't have a pair of aces unless you're horribly misplaying it. Villains thinking "Ok, he could have the flush draw I guess, and he definately doesn't have an ace". The 3rd club comes and you raise him. He's thinking "Ok maybe he hit his flush, but at least sometimes when someone hits the flush they slowplay it when an opponent keeps on betting into them as I have done. Besides that I still have 8 outs to the nuts". Villain calls you, and on the river you overbet. Villain thinks "Awww, screw you buddy. I started seriously deducting credit from flush on 4th street, and now you bet huge. Just one more reason to smell a rat. Besides that I have wired kings and KNOW you don't have an ace." He may have also seen you value bet a made hand earlier.

Erase your notes on this guy. He likely called because of the way you played the hand. You need to learn how to run a good believable line. First of all, it's not whether the villain has an ace that fuels his decisions. It's whether YOU demonstrate possession of the ace or a better hand correctly. You didn't do this. You couldn't figure out what to represent, and ended up representing that villain should be scared off by large confusing bets. I would call you OFTEN in this spot if I was villain.
