Default blind steal didn't work, oesd on flop ($11, 2 tables)

The big stacks had been pretty tight, 2.5xbb raises were taking down the blinds. Do you push this flop? Or would you raise half the pot, knowing that you're all in if he raises?

Does it matter? How stupid is this question?

2 table tourney, therefore this is the bubble. No reads, haven't seen him play post flop yet.

I push. Increase your Fold equity. Better to take it down without a fight.

    pulling a courtiebee pŏŏl-ĭng ā kôrt-ē-bē (verb phrase):
    1. overvaluing mid pocket pairs
    2. knowing you should fold, but donkishly calling or raising anyway

There's ~ 1300 in the pot, and you have 2000 behind. Your pot equity here is potentially very large. Furthermore, from his perspective, if he hit top pair, his game plan will be a c/r (or call). Anyway, from an $EV perspective, shoving is very very positive.

If you shoved and lost and/or were out played then so be it. It's part of the range. And no matter what, this is one of those situations where a mistake is really not that horrible 'cos you have outs to the nuts. The only way I think you could think about checking here is if you had a read or know the SB well enough to know that they could just cold call your raise with AA or KK preflop. Anyway, if SB has AK or KQ, this is a very normal flop for him to check to, and of course if he has KJ, that will be checked too. As I said, all things considered, this is part of the range. Now, if you had the read, this would be a super interesting hand to discuss what you would do on the turn.
