    Default Final table in 5 Table MTT

    Hey,

    I can really only think of one way to play this hand, but I just wanted to confirm it with the better players.

    There were 8 of us left on the final table (6 places are ITM) of a 45 player $5.00 SitnGo . I had roughly 5000 chips - near the bottom of the relatively evenly distributed stacks (I think the chip leader only had around 11000).

    The blinds were 400/800,

    I was in BB with the dreaded AK o ! Everyone folds to the SB who had roughly the same stack size as myself and he raises to 2400 !

    The players at this stage all seemed solid and cautious yet playing their hands aggressively when they were in. We were all sort of just feeling each other out so I didnt have any reads on the SB.

    I pushed all-in - any other suggestions ?

    Thanks,

    Martin

    You're only a heavy dog against 2 hands in the deck sir.
    It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
    Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

    Don't dread big hands. Be happy that you have AK with this situation. AK is a monster at this stage. Get all of your chips in.

    Your M is about 4 and you have AK. There's no way my money ISN'T going in here. Sorry you lost the race.

    What's more interesting is what range you should push here (AK is obviously in it). I suggest A8o+, A5s+, K9+, QT+, any pair.

    I'm not sure i push here unless i feel i am ahead, you have prety much no folding equity. I think your suggested range is far too loose because you're dominated a lot (vs a "solid but cautious" player)

    I'd probably go for something like AQ+, TT+

    Shouldn't the SB push with any 2 in this spot if BB folds a lot?

    Let's see.. SB hold 72o, both 5K stack, blinds 400/800. Assume BB only calls with top 20% of hands (which you think is too loose).

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 72.3397 % 71.90% 00.44% { 22+, A5s+, KTs+, QTs+, A8o+, KTo+, QTo+ }
    Hand 2: 27.6603 % 27.22% 00.44% { 7c2d }

    EV=20%*27.7%*10K+80%*5.8K-4.6K=+0.59K

    The EV of 72o increases to +1.0K if you'd only call with AQ+/TT+!

    edit: this is all cEV of course, but it's probably +$EV too if you push any 2 in SB if BB folds >80%. Anyone now a ICM calculator for more than 3 pay-outs? I only know of http://sharnett.bol.ucla.edu/ICM/ICM.html
