Default $16 Bubble Push: Calling Range Issues

If I put everyone on average ranges, this is a good push. The big stack doesn't wanna call off basically his whole stck with a shortie there so his is prolly a tight range.

Sometimes at this spot I dunno what to put the shortie on. My usual rationate is that the SS wants to either push crap himself or wait for a good hand to bubble out/double up on so his range is tighter.

Is that wrong? Or does that depend on the player?

Well i personally dont like the play... You are risky either all your chips or a huge majority of your chips on a very very marginal hand... What is wrong with a 3x raise to see where you stand... you get reraised lay it down and 3-4x bet can still take down this pot most of the time...
    I am that fish...

I don't like playing "poker" with <10BB's. Usually turns into push/fold with me at that point. If it's a +$EV push I'm making it, if not I'm just folding it.

The issue here if it was a +$EV push according to if I got my calling ranges right.

    Generally, I don't push here.

J2 is too weak of a hand, and SB and BB likely will be calling looser than the SNGPT "average" range.

If you have reads saying they are tight, then it's fine.

In a $16 buyin, you should be wary of this thought process IMO. Part of your EV comes from not being involved as well. It's difficult to determine the EV of shoving here vs the EV of folding, letting others battle. That being said, I have no comment on the hand.

the sooner we're going up to 300/600, the more I like it. also how often have you pushed to this point?

@ zarry - the question is does something like A7 push over 3x, but fold to the push. I think often yes.
