I just started playing on party pokers 25 nl tables only been playing for about a week(switched over from limit). but was wondering how often do you guys go broke?

at 25nl I generally take three peoples stack for every time I get stacked. Something like that anyway. So I probably get stacked about 1-2 times in a good long session, and take about 5-6 stacks.

I think for NL25 you should follow the minimum 20 buyin rule;more if you are relatively new.I have a $2000 BR and I still play cautiously at NL25 and .15/.30.

So that'd be a 2 hour session on six tables, or a 3 hour session on four tables

I'll loose my 100bb stack twice a session on average (approx. 1500 hands). Monster vs. Monster type hands.

I find most people have less than the 100bb stacks (some with <25bb), so it's not uncommon to take a dozen stacks in a session. I<3 25nl !!!! I HATE 50NL !!!! ggrrrrrr wtf bad beat nooby fish shit.

I have really like 50nl so far. It seems to me to be just like 25nl with more folding equity and more than twice the $/hr.

I've sat at tables of 25NL 9max where the 2nd biggest stack was $12.

I hate those tables. Against short stacks you are forced to make bad calls because of favorable pot odds and you don't get paid off well enough with your big hands. You don't get proper implied odds to set farm against them either. If more than half the people at a table are bought in for short, I don't even bother sitting there.

I LOVE those tables. My LHE experience gives me a strong grasp on pot equity, plus I'm not too woried about taking the worst of it now and then because I know they'll likely just dump the chips back to the stronger players. Gamble with them, don't fold anything of value and eat the swings.

So you're idea is keep tossing coins with them until you win all of your money back along with all of their money?

Sorta. If you treat them like stronger players with stronger hand ranges, you're vastly under-estimating your equity in a lot of spots with them. So just keep gambling and make them show you hands whenever you have a piece.

The big thing with Hold'em is that unpaired hands pretty much whiff the flop 2/3rds or so of the time. When someone is playing a crapload of hands, often when they hit the flop it's going to be something weak. So really loose players need to somehow cope with this, particularly if they're paying lots of money pre-flop. So if the board is something like Q83 and you have JJ, you might give a tighter player credit for Qx or better. However, you should be more inclined to gamble with Mr. Short stack as he will more often have a worse hand.

The other advantage is that the table nits will sometimes flip the bozo bit on you and make mistakes because they don't pick up on the fact that you're playing them differently.

If I didn't, I learned something, If I did, all good and another buy-in goes in. I don't see any kind of consistency to cooler-type hands tho. I can go weeks without losing a buyin and I can lose three or four in a day sometimes.

We are speaking statistically. And its is almost statistically impossible for you to go weeks without losing a buyin. If you are, then you either a)don't play much, or b) aren't pushing enough edges.

I don't play much online anymore. I buy in way over people in bar tournament side games and max in casino games. I guess there's no way to really play much deep-stack poker at 25/50/100nl online, but I'm looking to get back into playing online and I'm curious.
