Default Post-oak bluff or river value bet - lay down KK? (PS $10+1)

Can you lay down KK here? Is this a value bet or a post-oak bluff? Opp seemed pretty tight so far.

If you're calling, I think you are losing 50% of the time.

However, you only have to be right one time in 5 (ish - ?!) to make this ok. His check behind on the turn with a fairly scary card (adding to potential draws) is a bit odd.

    tough spot, either is OK.

Like star said it's OK to be beat mere more often than not. Plus there is the (marginal) value in showing you can't be post oaked.

Would you have lead 400 if the flop had been QT6r, or if you held AK on that flop? Smells like a scared of the A bet to me.

Gotta love seeing that flop hey? IMO I have no idea where your hand is because he flat called your bet, and checked behind you on the turn. Your double check looks really weak here, maybe even a small value bet on the river would have been better because you don't want to be calling with the worst hand. Most of the time when I get QQ or KK and the flop comes A X X, I don't like investing too much money because too many people LOVE playing AX. The only way I call the river bet is if I am pretty sure he doesn't have an A, and the only way you can really tell is if he has done this before... I have no idea by the betting.

I like your raise preflop. The way you played this hand on the flop, turn, and the check on the river REQUIRES a call.

You're there on the river, Op hasn't shown anything much to say you're beat (call flop & weird check behind on the turn), for 400 I'd go for a showdown

It's a marginal loss if anything. If it's a good value bet so be it.

Bet the flop harder to maybe give you a better idea though.

Yes, that's what I did. He flipped over JJ for the set. Weak play IMO. Not sure what he was scared of on the flop or the river, does he honestly think I had AA or KQ?

How would you have played this hand differently? Bet bigger on the flop (maybe 600), lead out on the turn or river? I felt I had to bet the flop in case he didn't catch a piece of the flop with something like QQ, TT or 99.

I don't. Sometimes scare cards save you. Given his call on the flop, I'm either through with the hand or looking for a cheap showdown.
