    Default PokerStar Rebuy Tournies?

Is the only way to succeed at these rebuy X amount of money garenteed tournies is to go allin with any good or marginal for the first hour?

no. You can wait for good hands, and call the people who are moving with anything. Get ready to have KK cracked once or twice by 76o. If you (or your BR) can't handle that, save yourself the heartache and play FOs instead.

Personally, if it's a limpy table I'll see 50% of flops, esp the first half hour. If it's a pushy table, I'll sit back a little, although I'm happy to run AQ+, TT+ against a couple of pushes from active opps.

I like this^^^. Good advice. I don't think you can say it any better.

Yep, you have to realize that your monsters a LOT more vulnerable because of the range of hands they'll call with. Just today I had AA cracked by TT, 99 cracked by 65s, and KT cracked by 99 on flop of T52.

If you can handle taking those kinds of beats and not tilting (and you can AFFORD to rebuy after them), the r/a's are for you.

If there are multiple all-ins before you and you have 75s or 65s.. call. It's worth it with the odds you're getting, but like I said... you have to be able to afford to rebuy a few times.

I love these tourns! I have made it to the final 2 tables twice in the $10+R. Sadly I lost races on both just before FT (I think 14th place on both). Nothing feels better knowing you have a shot at $16,000+. (I think 1st has been over $20,000 with the higher gaurantees now).

As for strategy I always rebuy right away (before the tourn begins), and limp in with almost any 2 marginal cards every single hand. If I pick up JJ+ or AQ AK, I will most likely just move allin. People can notice this and fold, but this strategy has seemed to work for me. And as THaC said, if there are 3+ allins, it is almost worth calling with any 2 cards. I don't play them too often because lack of a bankroll, but they sure are a rush when you get deep.

Just for fun, look at the stuff that happens in these tourns. This is a little over 30 mins into it, and look at this beat I put on these people!
