    Looks like an exercise in set-spotting. You're probably beat but unless you're folding to the turn bet I can't see not going broke here.

    looks like AQ to me

    A set very likely slowplays that board headsup, so KQ/AQ are the most likely hands. You are vulnerable to one of those so 3 betting the flop is not terrible, though you can certainly risk the 3 outer and keep him in it thinking you missed AK or have JJ/TT.
    He's too aggressive on the turn for it to be a set I think.

    If we put our opponent on a tight range:

    28,710 games 0.047 secs 610,851 games/sec

    Board: Qd 8c 3s
    Dead:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 57.8614 % 56.14% 01.72% { QQ+, 88, 33, AQs, KQs, AQo }
    Hand 2: 42.1386 % 40.41% 01.72% { KcKs }

    I agree he is too aggresive on the turn to have a set... It was only a 2 dollar raise I can see him hitting 2pair, or AQ thats realistically what i put him on, the turn bet really just throws me off... eeep i guess im no help lol hmm 2 pair? or AQ is my best bet
    I am that fish...

    currently broke as a joke...

    Before I read this thread, just from the title I thought to myself:
    "Yes, usually, but you have odds to call anyway."

    I stick by that answer.
    To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

    I would personally call this down yes. Really doesn't feel like a way to play a set.. I was thinking maybe two pair, but not likely given the board and the preflop raise.. so yeah, I'd take this up. Seems like he really wants you to fold, and overpair really is a great way to destack people in my experience

    Btw how did it end?

    Does it matter?

    Whether he won or lost this hand, should that change how he plays similar hands in the future?

    I want to see if I can confirm my rousing suspicion that he lost here (because if he won he wouldn't have posted it).
