Kind of the same thing happened to me 3 times in a period of 5 minutes. I had hands like 44, 55, and 66 and limped in to see a flop. After a flop of all overs and a bet, I folded them all. The turn cards teased me by being a "4, 5, 6" which would have given me a set. Regardless of this it has to be the correct laydown if you know they have an over that they wouldn't let go, correct?
Basically, if you hold 66, and the pot is like 300 and someone bets 100 into a board of 7 8 K, would anyone call? It made me go crazy in such a short period of time but told myself it was the right laydown at the wrong time.
