Default What do you do here?

First hand of $5.75 Tourny (10 players). I dont have the HH but here goes.1000 starting chips.

Hero is SB dealt AdKc. Player in EP limps Player in mid position min raises(20). Folds to Hero. Hero raises (200) 1st limper calls raiser folds pot is (435). Flop Kd5dQd. hero bets 350 villain raises all in. Hero?

I want to get away from TpTk but can you get away from that plus nut flush draw? I really cant range villain as this is first hand so ill give credit for possibly 55 as I have a K and QQ probably raises there. QK? If hes an idiot this could be a possibility. 2 diamonds? What 2 diamonds could call the preflop raise?

I definitely call the all-in, especially because you have Ad and therefore outs against a set or made flush.

    INSTA CALL

your lookin at 9 for the nut flush, if he doesnt have a set, you have 3 for 2pair, if he doesnt hold kq or k5 u got 2 for trip kings... worst case ur lookin at at least 9...

I gave him a very loose range and the numbers speak for themselves...

I actually pretty much insta called. He had 55 for the set. Thanks just second guessing myself.

easy call, but I dont really like how big the preflop raise is consdering you have a drawing hand out of position.

Yes you are right about that. In hindsight I could haveKept the pot smaller preflop so maybe I would have had some options Post flop. Good Point. If I had raised 4 or 5 X I would have possibly been able to get away.
But as played it made the post flop decision to call easier. Lets see, If the 4x raise still got it to HU the pot would have been 200ish. If I raise the flop 175 or so then folding leaves me with a few chips to get back in. Interesting point THKS

~3x the raise to reraises is good, makes them decide how much they really like their hand in the cheapest way possible

Anything bigger is kinda overkill unless there are other calls to the raise.
    pulling a courtiebee pŏŏl-ĭng ā kôrt-ē-bē (verb phrase):
    1. overvaluing mid pocket pairs
    2. knowing you should fold, but donkishly calling or raising anyway

you know he has to have a donk hand here. You could easily be ahead of something like JTo with a diamond.
