    Default variance sucks

ugh. the difference between being up another $150 and down $10 right now. i guess i shouldn't be that mad, since it's only $10, but the thought of being up $150 (which is alot for a college kid!) on hands i would win a majority of the time is just frustrating.

for some reason, i feel like i can avoid variance. for the last few days i managed to stay out of big pots unless i knew i had the best hand, or a pretty good idea. but just in the last hour i was involved in like six $30+ pots losing 4 of them that i should have won. oh well. i find the best way is to just brush it off, continue playing solid poker, staying out of hands i have no place being in, etc.

what the fuck. why does variance always come at once. it's like you HAVE TO LOSE WHEN YOU HAVE VARIANCE ITS FUCKING FINAL DESTINATION YOU CANT ESCAPE IT.

none of the hands i raise preflop with catch pairs. people catch runner runner like it's their fucking job to stack me. this is fucking ridiculous. this is why i quit and come back a month later. because i start doing great, am up a few buyins and then i go down 3 buyins because of bullshit and don't feel like playing anymore.

i cant play the lower limits because people call with everything and you cant bluff or you get sucked out on and i cant play at the higher limits because im getting shit for cards right now and im on a limited budget so every raise kills my bankroll.

    fucking poker.

variance doesn't come all at once, the human minbd is just good at noticing patterns that don't exist.

it's time to quit again. come back when you want to play.

    variance pays the bills.

if you know how to play poker, and learn to deal with the swings, you should be able to make alot of money.

That's what I thought you meant, and I totally agree.

it's not a matter of dealing with the swings. i can mentally deal with them. but when you continually raise your good hands and catch no piece of the flop, i'm not just going to bluff every single hand. and bluffing is built on the principle of actually having good hands once in awhile to showdown with but i havn't been catching shit. fuckkkkkkkkk.
