    Default What do y'all think?

Paradise $50 table. I limp from the button w/ 9/10 offsuit. Flop comes Q 10 8 rainbow. I check, MP bets $1.5o into a $2.50 pot. I minraise to $3. He calls. Turn is a 10. I bet $5, he calls. River's a K. I bet $10, he raises to $20. I call. Well played, or would you have done something different?

    Raise pre-flop.

Post-flop action is f'd up? You're the button right?

I don't get the flop raise, what do you want him to do?

    Number of players?

If you were going to play, you should have raised preflop IMO. As played, fold the flop or raise like a man. 3x or so oughta keep him from chasing his straight. As played past the flop I'd consider folding this river. A whole shitload of hands beat you.

I want him to either fold, or more likely, call with whatever nothing hand he has and then check/fold the turn. Is this not a common lagg line? Would you have just called the flop bet instead?

You have a pair and a gut shot (4 outs to a straight). A pair and an 8-out straight would be an easy raise on the flop, this is more of a toss-up. I think you generally did good. But personally I would have hammered the turn a bit harder. You hit your set, that is good, but he could still beat you if he hits a straight, so you need to give him bad pot odds to chase it if he is on a draw.

So, your standard play with a drawing hand like this on the button is always a raise? Not disputing, just asking.

Didn't I do that betting 5 into an 8.50 pot? That's 2.7 to 1 when the odds of him hitting an OESD are about 4 to 1, right?

pot the flop. Check call river.
Yes, I think this line is good.

Your standard line on the button with any two decent cards in an unraised pot should be to raise. You own this pot.
