    Default MTTs and $/hr

I'm confused about something in relation to MTTs. I don't actually know what is a good ROI in MTTs bu I'm guessing its around 70% right? Please correct me if I'm wrong because my question kinda hinges on that.

So lets say you buy in to a $100 MTT and your ROI will be 70%. So really you are earning $70 for entering that MTT. OK so far? Well if that MTT takes 3 hours then you have earned roughly $23 an hour for playing.

To be rolled for a $100 MTT you need 10k$ right? Well with this roll you could be playing 400NL ring games and be easily earnng more then $23/hour.

So why play MTTs? I'm sure I'm missing something.

You can multitable MTTs just like you can ring games.

Also, because some people are naturally tournament players like myself rather than ring games.

Tournaments are simply more fun. ROI/hr is often going to be better in ring but they are hour after hour after hour of doing the same moves again and again, you can put PT on and basically go into auto pilot. Tourneys change as they progress and are far more interesting & challenging.

If you want poker to be like a job then go ahead and play ring, and if you should play ring to supplement MTT entries like most people here do, but to really enjoy playing the game MTT's are the nuts.
75% of online poker players believe they are better than 75% of the other online poker players

all the great players suppliment their cash game play with tournament winnings, or vice versa. And i'm starting to think its almost necessary
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

Well if I'm making $60/hr playing ring and $20/hr playing MTTs then I'm just leaking off my cash game profits constantly?

If you are making $60/hr playing ring and only $20/hr playing MTTs stick to ring - it's pretty easy.
