Default KK with an A on the flop ($27 turbo)

    Poker Stars
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t50/t100
    6 players

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t1290
    UTG+1: t1200
    CO: t4755
    nogenius: t1185
    SB: t3505
    BB: t1565

    Pre-flop: (6 players) nogenius is Button with K K
2 folds, CO calls t100 (pot was t150), nogenius raises to t350, 2 folds, CO calls t250 (pot was t600).

    Flop: 6 A 5 (t850, 2 players)
CO checks, nogenius is all-in t835

    ---

The CO was a loose player.

Given that read, is a push OK here given he checked?

    Thanks in advance.

With your stack size I think it's fine. You need those 850 chips, and if CO is a loose player he doesn't necessarily have the A.

I would probably just have pushed preflop though, saves you from situations like this. With the caller and the blinds there are 250 chips in the pot, that's a 20% addition to your stack if everybody folds. Plus if CO is a loose player he might well call you with mid PPs, Ax, etc.

    I push preflop too.

Since he is lose he might call with a weaker hand, which is what you want. One could argue you lose value pushing preflop with big hands instead of raising like you did, but you're short and it makes it look like you're desperate. With your stack and only raising to 350, it looks like a huge hand to me.

Plus villian has a LOT of chips and judging by your read he might want to call because he might think "I have a lot of chips."

Well judging on the read of villian, a flush draw/oesd might call too. But normally I agree 100%. Any AX calls you. If they called with AX preflop they're going to call your AI regardless if they think you have AJ+.

Assuming hero checks the flop villian could sense weakness and push the turn with any 2. I dont think the push is bad

TLR would you plz think about what i wrote.

Only hands that beat you call.

If you plan to pay him off anyway, then check flop and call the all in on the turn.

What does pushing accomplish? If hero's hand is good, then pushing just scares the villian away (unless he wants to gamble with a flush draw).
