    Default MTT Turbo Questions

First and formost I have played in about 100 FR on Pacific Poker for MTT experiance.. I wanted to touch the water before I jumped in to pool( Kids pee in there).

I joined the 10¢ MTT on PS Last night ( one of them anyway ) I finished 65th place out of ( checking my MTT Spreadsheet ) 2254, I quaded up early, with-in 10 minutes and the ITM Positions only needed 5692 Chipccount. So I set back and and only played " Group A" hands. Now this was all good then once the "turbo" aspect started kicking in ( after the first break) and BB was 2k so on and so forth I was getting owned.. At the point it seemed to me that everyone with 4k ( +/- 2k ) would push. So I never really saw a lot of hands I was confident it. Most of the pushers where with A K Q x S some not... I once had K 10o but I was not willing to get into a 4-way pot. Here is that hand...

PokerStars (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
    Dealt to Xo_Sirk_oX [T K]
    Flop: 7, 3, K (3 players, 1 all-in)
    Turn: 2 (3 players, 1 all-in)
    River: T (3 players, 1 all-in)
    Results below:
SB has Ah 3s (one pair, threes).
UTG has 5c 5d (one pair, fives).
MP2 has Ad Jc (high card, ace).
    Outcome: UTG wins .

I am wondering once turbo blinds hit large amounts ( 10% or more of ones stack ) what strategy then kicks into effect.

This "showing" ( 65th/2254 ) Is the highest I have got in a MTT, but I have always got ITM with them, if anything to pay for entering.

The thing with turbo tournaments is that the blinds get insanely high VERY fast, so once they're so high and they are a large percentage of your stack, you really need to put your chips into the middle with a STRONG hand and take down the blinds (or better yet, get called, and win the hand) which will put you in a much more comfortable position.

Make sure you're the first person to push all your chips in. This tends to scare other "big" hands (AJ, A10, KQ), etc, a little and makes them question the power of their hand. This is called "first in viggorish" and is very useful

If you're serious about poker, I suggest picking up a few poker books, (Harrington on Holdem 1 and 2) and some others that you can look through in the book section on here.

EDIT: Oh, and good thing you didn't get involved in that K10 hand. You shouldn't be involved anyway, even though you wouldn't have won. You'll be on the losing side more often than not with that hand in a 4 way pot, it just isn't strong enough.

The fact it was 4-way is why I didn't. My reasoning if it would have been HU or something of that nature is people will push with any hand with a face card ( singular ) in it. So I would have simply called. If the K T was suited I know I would have called, You see the hands that where shown... The last 5 hands had been that way... all of them were off suit.

need more info on the KT hand, position, stack sizes, blinds, etc before I would comment.

In general, in a turbo MTT, there is NEVER time to relax. You need to be constantly looking to add chips to your stack.
