I was looking over my hand history, to see mistakes i made in my play. here is a spot. I only get called on the flop if i am beat??!? Did i make a bad play. What should i have bet.

I did end up winning it.

1. opponent basically has 1/2 of his stack in the pot already. i play this the same because you dont want to check and see a broadway on the turn. i think you have to pay off an overpair to tens here

2. without any kinds of read i wouldnt make a move like this. if your keeping track of his play and notice he bets the flop A LOT, this isnt a bad semi bluff because he can still fold a pair under jacks and possibly a flush draw

1st hand, I'd say make it look like a c-bet.. maybe about 2/3 of the pot. Close to like... 1500. Then if you get a caller, shove turn if it's not scary, but I don't see anyone calling you with another PP, so you should be okay.

2nd hand... seems okay. He was really shortstacked, so it was going in sooner or later.

Hand 1 - well played. Pot has close to 2k your opp has closer to 1k. You don't want to give him free cards here - and if he hit a monster - oh well, you can't get away from this hand on that flop.

Hand 2 - meh - hard to say cuz I don't know your read. If that guy makes a continuation bet every hand and could get away here than it's a fine semi-bluff.

Hand 1 standard. Don't give people free cards or cheap draws getting stuck in the "I can't get called unless I'm beat" mode. You'd rather AK calls, but if he folds that's OK too.

Hand 2 it a lot better if your opp has 7k in chips. When he puts 600 in, most of the time he's going back for the rest.
