What would it be like playing in a $3 rebuy tournament as opposed to a $3 FO? Would I be ABLE to play in a $3 rebuy tourny but NOT rebuy/addon? The prize payouts are much nicer in these. Is this possible?

Much different animals. If you want to go deep in the rebuy, you need to double up 1xbuy in about 3-4 times before the first break. This is why people intentionally spend 7-10x the buy in accumulating a stack.

After the first break, typically the high stack is about 30x the buy in. In a FO, the highstack would be maybe 8-10x the buy in. You can see that a great deal of leverage is lost by buying in just once. Typically, you would get squashed by a 5 way all in while holding JJ, when Q4 sucks you out.

I spent 102 dollars in a 3 dollar rebuy yesterday, and I still busted out in the second hour.
