 A Pastor with a Bentley
Ok maybe I am bias b/c I grew up with Pastors who were corrupt and asked the people of the church for money but the church never recieved the money and yet they had nice cars (pastors) etc...
Well today somehow I get into this conversation with my coworker about her Pastor. I immediately ask her what type of car does he drive, and she said a Bentley. Now I am in no way jealous, but it just raises concern in me that this "man of god' is living such a lavish lifestyle, then she tells me about his plans of having a faith city!
This all really threw me back, I haven't dealt with a pastor since I was a kid, so maybe things have changed, but I was tryin to explain my problems with his ties to soo much money. I mean you look at other religions, in the catholic faith you don't see the father with a bentley, nor do you see a buddhist monk (im buddhist) drivin a bentley teaching people about enlightment and the 8 fold path...
So my question to you does any of this seem a bit strange to any of you or am I overreacting here? She doesn't understand where I am coming from and I am having hard time explaining it to her
I was like I just keep envisioning those tv evagalist (sp?) who claim they can do miracles, and they make money off of those poor sheep. Yet it clearly states in the bible that no one will be performing miracles except Jesus when he returns!
