Default 400NL, 600NL and 1000NL game at Party.

I've been playing the 400NL game at party for a week or so now, and it's pretty soft, several bad players, some good multitablers, and a few skilled LAGs. I'm pretty much rolled for the 600NL game as well, and I'm wondering what the difference between the two games are? Say for instance will I find more good LAGs at the 600 game, floating on me etc. Are there fewer calling stations? And also what would you consider a good win-rate to be at these games, 400NL and 600NL that is.

And another thing, I've heard the 1000NL game is a much much harder than 400NL and 600NL, anyone got experience with that game? Would be interesting to know where the big step in skill-leve between players are.

600NL has severeal very good multi tablers. They will give you trouble in some spots, but if you stay out of their way you can make good money. The 1k game is very tough. A good win rate for 400NL is prbly 6-8ptbb/100 hands and for 600NL is prbly 5-6 ptbb/100

my winrate is actually higher at $600NL, but ive only played 15k hands of both. i think there are several good lags at $600NL that were nonexistant at $400, but i don't think they are hard to deal with.

i''m curious, do you use pokertracker, and if so what are your preflop stats at $400?

My stats at the moment are:
    VP%: 21.5
    PFR: 12.4
    Total aggression: 1.71
    BB/100: 6.9
    10k hands.

I'd like to turn up my PFR some % to like 15, or even higher if I increase my VP% at the same time, and I'm also working on getting more aggressive. I'm calling a little too much in position instead of re-raising.

Was looking at your stats, you're having quite a bit higher PFR%, wonder what kinda hands I have to start raising to get that, hmmm. Do you raise much from the blinds? I almost never do.

sample size, i've run at 13ptbb/100 over samples twice that size at 600.

You could stand to be a bit more aggressive postflop. My aggression factor is 4.76, which is a little too high, but somehwhere between yours and mine is likely good.

Oh I'm working on my aggression, I've been re-raising more lately and that seems to work pretty well. I do a lot of cont. bets, but I'm thinking I should start re-raising weak leads into me more. I was trying the 600 game last night btw, managed to lost like 1k in an hour or so. I think the game was harder, the players were much more aggressive, but I think I might have choosen a difficult table, cause there are a few calling stations and fish at 600 as well I guess.

Yeah, did you see my nice jacks full of aces against that guy? Feels good to win back what I lost that first session I'll play more 600NL for sure, I was probably just running bad the first night as well as sitting on a bad table.

For some reason I have seen my worst results at 600 NL. 400 NL is easily crushable, with very few good players, and the good players aren't very hard to take advantage of when you learn their game. This is a very good place if you are looking to build a roll for higher stakes games. Also, you can make a very large hourly rate 8 tabling if you just want to play for profit.

600 NL there is a step up in skill, and the donks get more aggressive, i didnt do very well there, had a much lower hourly rate than at 400 NL. I actually just skipped this level when i moved up from 400 NL the second time.

1000 NL is my best game so far but it's completely different than the other levels. you really have to be able to laydown 2nd best hands, and you also have to continously mix up your game to get payed off on your big hands. There are still quite a few donks with a lot of chips to spew, but there are many regulars that are very tough customers and it won't be easy to play against them. IM me when you move up and I can tell you what I know about a lot of the players.

I'm 5.6BB/100 for 16k hands at the 400NL now, I'm comfortable there and that will for sure be good to drop down too if I hit a big downswing or I get outplayed and loose a lot on the higher levels. I'm glad I moved up there, and I totally agree it's possible to make a large hourly rate there.

At 600NL I'm 17.4BB/100 for only 2500 hands, just a tiny sample but I'm planning to stick around there untill I feel ready to give 1k a shot. I guess you've just been running bad when playing the 600NL game, you don't have like a huge sample there, or?

I'll have a chat with you before giving the 1000NL game a shot, I'd certainly be interessed in hearing your opinion on players there, thanks. Cool seeing you posting here as well btw And what I'm doing is just building a roll to play higher and higher stakes, increasing my BR requirements with each level, so far so good

And I just got back from a 2 week holiday in South Africa, so now I'm really looking forward to my first session of poker after that

It's 6 max, seems to be by far the most popular game at the moment at party

Hmm maybe its just me but I find 10-max way way easier than 6-max. I have yet to even come close to beating 400 NL 6-max on Party (im still at the 200 level), but I can beat 600 NL 10-max on Party.

I never tried the 10-max 600NL game there, I believe it is possible to make more at 6 max finding good tables though, since you play so many more hands against the bad players at the table. I guess that`s why 6 max seems to be so popular at the moment? I guess your playing style just works better at full tables, I don`t like playing full tables cause I don`t like folding so much

it is easier, but hourly rate is much less

sounds hard to me to fold so much, don't think I will manage that again, have a hard time in tourneys these days, I'm used to raising A8s and KJo utg but that doesn't work too well on full tables
