I like Goat's preflop line on hand 2. As SNGPT tells you, it's +EV given everybody else has folded to raise from the SB with a wide range of cards here, so it's correct for BB to call with a wider range than if the raise came from EP/MP.
Given that, a thinking player will call the preflop raise with cards that are most often weaker than TT, so you're building a pot where you're ahead and it sets you up to throw out a c-bet of 350 or so on most flops (I do this even if I hit my T provided there aren't draws out there).
I think raising preflop lets you win more chips than just completing the SB.
