I play it a little different. First of all, I reraise at least to 5.5 preflop. Then on the flop I will bet about 2/3 pot (about what you bet), and on the turn I will raise his bet to about 2/3 the pot.

My way gets a lot more money in the pot earlier, while protecting against flush draws. You're play depended on him making a bad call on the river (some players won't call 30 in that spot).

You should almost never bet small and scared of runnin people out. Usually in full ring you are either stacking someone or you aren't. A few dollars here and there doesn't generally make a difference, particularly against bad players. What difference a few dollars more DOES make is a potential calling mistake for your opponent. He could very well have been betting small like that to price in his flush draw, and you gave him perfect odds with your less than strong raise.

And it sucks to lose with a set to a flush, particularly when you opponent made no mistakes to get it.
