help dealing with limpers late
I am sure that something has been posted about this already, but I am lazy.
Here's my problem. It comes up a lot for me in both SNG's and MTT's, moreso in the latter. I will get about halfway through a MTT, with a slightly below average stack (cold deck, loose tables, few steal opportunites). As the blinds start to rise and the table starts to tighten up, I begin to get more active, which I need to do to stay ahead of the blinds, so it works out great.
But, there usually seems to be at least one player at my table who will limp from EP. this player usually has a medium stack, and is limping into far too many pots. I have real troubles dealing with this, as I am looking for the first in vigorish to make my steals. The problem with these players is that they are obviously looser than normal, and dont really seem to understand tournaments, so folding equity goes way down against them.
As I see it I have a few options. First, I could tighten my pushing/raising range and only enter with better hands to overcome their propensity to call, the downside being I will have a much harder time stealing as these opportunities will not come around enough to keep me ahead of the blinds.
Option two is to loosen up my range to take advantage of the extra money in the pot. this would obviously lead to greater volatility.
Option three would be to completely ignore the fact that this player has entered the pot and play normally.
advice would be appreciated
