    CO (t1470)
    Button (t1470)
    SB (t1420)
    Hero (t2660)
    UTG (t1500)
    UTG+1 (t1500)

    Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, J.
    2 folds, MP1 calls t20, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks.

    Flop: (t60) J, 8, 9 (3 players)
    SB bets t60, Hero calls t60, MP1 folds.

    Turn: (t180) 3 (2 players)
    SB bets t60, Hero calls t60.

    River: (t300) K (2 players)
    SB bets t100, Hero calls t100.

    ---

    It was fairly early in the game, and the SB had not been very active yet.

    How do you like the way this hand was played, and how do you think it could have been improved?

    I think your call on the flop is correct. The turn bet by villain is usually a tell, that he's got donkey. I think the way to play the turn when this occurs is to raise an amount you would be willing to call on the river. Since there's 240 in the pot on the turn, that seems like a good bet. If he calls, you can feel pretty sure he either has a T or heart. Thus you're folding to any river action.

    As played, I think the river call is good.

    Raise his weak turn bet(take it down or get info).
    As played seems fine.

    My question is does any1 raise his flop bet given the nature of the flop and weakness of our holding.
    You gain info sooner and a raise is cheaper now than on turn!!!

    I don't think it's wise with the limper yet to act. Also, fish like to call their draws with 2 cards to come, and are less likely to call with one.

Even better hands played by weak players will freeze up to the turn raise line (I've seen sets freak/trap and give me a free showdown.)
