    Default Buy Poker Tracker First?

So I've turned my initial $50 into about$220 so far via 50 $5.50 SNGs. I am planning in moving up to the 11s soon, but I also was planning on investing in poker tracker. I don't really play any cash games, though I may start dabbling.

I was going to get Poker Tracker, but then I saw the Sit-N-Go Analyzer in the ICM thread. My question is, which one should I get as a primarily SNG player right now? If both, which do you think I should get first?

Get PT first, it is invaluable to help you both analyse your HHs and confirm reads on your opponents during games. The way you're running at the $5.50s, it will pay for itself within a few games.

Whilst SnGPT is great, it has a more limited application than PT (basically analysing whether it is +/- EV to push or call a push, particularly when you're shortstacked).

    i would get SNGPT.

keep track of ur stats in excel.
hand analysis can be done just by looking through ur HHs.

What about PT with HUD add-on vs. just Power Tools?

I don't use HUD, I just flick back and forth between my tourney table and PT (note - I only single table) if I want to check my reads on my opps.

Whilst I agree SNGPT is great at the business end of the tourney (shortstacked/shorthanded) I think you can at least partially develop your push/fold decision making process without it (eg. by posting the hands on this board).

(EDIT: I should also add that it's possible to do ICM calculations manually with a spreadsheet and this link.)

I find reviewing HHs without PT to be very cumbersome, and PT allows you to analyse your opponents whilst reviewing HHs (loose/tight, passive/aggressive etc) and see whether you made the right plays.

I couldnt recommend Poker Tracker enough, just the graphical function to review all your hand histories alone is worth the money, never mind being able to keep a real track of every hand, every win/loss position stats etc. Now i have it i cant belive i actually played without it

Its helped me really improve my game. And for the price of a few buy ins, I cant grumble.

Id also be getting SnG Power Tools too, great for analyzing your pushes/push calls, i use that a lot too.

Id buy SNGPT first and then get PokerOffice or PokerTracker for free through a sign up bonus. Developing a very solid pushbot [when the blinds get high enough] strategy based on SNGPT should be invaluable at the lower levels and as you move up you will be on step ahead of your opponents, one HUGE step. To keep track of your stats in the mean time, use this spreadsheet:
