I am next to the CO and it is folded to me...Is raising here with 89s good or bad?

    PRE-FLOP
    5 folds, HERO bets $3, maldini79 calls $3, 3 folds .

    FLOP [board cards AH,QD,6D ]
    HERO bets $7, maldini79 bets $14, scrow377 calls $7.

Standard C-bet by me...not sure what his min-raise meant, is it -ev to continue with this hand?

    TURN [board cards AH,QD,6D,7C ]
    HERO bets $15, maldini79 bets $20.20 and is all-in, scrow377 calls $5.20.

I figured checking here would be too weak, so I bet..thoughts?? (playing 4-5 tables at once I did not realize he was short stacked)

    RIVER [board cards AH,QD,6D,7C,KH ]

I figured set, or pocket 7's....or maybe a good bluff by dr9999?? PT rates him as a "Slightly loose aggressive solid"

Texas Hold'em $0.50-$0.50 PL (real money), hand #435,423,311
Table Luzern, 2 May 2006 2:14 PM ET

    Seat 1: dr9999 ($58.40 in chips)
    Seat 2: weevils3 ($20.70 in chips)
Seat 3: Pokrbeachbum ($17.50 in chips)
Seat 4: -TRIUMPHUS- ($16.25 in chips)
    Seat 5: gruby30 ($95.00 in chips)

Seat 7: GrenadierB ($65.15 in chips)
Seat 8: Borodach ($55.25 in chips)
    Seat 9: HERO [ QS,3H ] ($52.80 in chips)
    ANTES/BLINDS
HERO posts blind ($0.50), dr9999 posts blind ($0.50).

    PRE-FLOP
weevils3 calls $0.50, Pokrbeachbum folds, -TRIUMPHUS- calls $0.50, 3 folds , Borodach calls $0.50, HERO checks, dr9999 checks.

    FLOP [board cards 3C,7S,QH ]
HERO checks, dr9999 checks, weevils3 bets $0.50, -TRIUMPHUS- bets $1, Borodach folds, HERO calls $1, dr9999 folds, weevils3 calls $0.50.

Well I flop a BB special on an uncoridinated board. Every time I flop 2 pair from the blinds I usually come out betting the pot, because "never slow play 2 pair" is what I hear a lot...but I never get paid off that way. So this time I figured since the board looks pretty tame I wil check. Thoughts??

    TURN [board cards 3C,7S,QH,5D ]
HERO checks, weevils3 checks, -TRIUMPHUS- bets $3, HERO bets $7, weevils3 folds, -TRIUMPHUS- calls $4.

I check here because I am 90% sure Triumphus will bet (he's a maniac, he always bets)...and I am going for the check raise.

    RIVER [board cards 3C,7S,QH,5D,KD ]
HERO bets $9, -TRIUMPHUS- calls $7.75 and is all-in.

Him being short stacked makes this a lot easier on the river.

I think Hand 4 is the only one that's terrible, the rest of them are really OK even though I might play them a little bit differently.

Hand 1, he's only seeing the flop with one other guy. I would find a new seat and stop raising 89 suited when a calling station has position on me. That being said, once you saw the flop, you were probably doubling this guy up no matter how you played the hand.

Hand 2 is standard unless you've seen the guy make one of those stupid little "I have AA" re-raises when he didn't have anything.

I think that with your read, betting $20 on the turn on Hand 3 is probably a waste of money, because a good aggressive player might raise you with any two cards here. He knows what you have and he knows you can't call a raise. If your opponent is not capable of a bluff raise then I like the way you played the hand.

    Hand 4, bet the flop.

I see that now. I still probably don't bet that flop though.
