Who's the fish?

    Default Who's the fish?

This guy played a wide range and was aggressive. I had been raising from all positions since I sat down. I thought he was making a move by leading the flop. Then the king hit and I put him on A8 or a draw or an overpair like TT.

Same guy. My image is fairly crappy by now. I called because he's an idiot that will stack off if I hit...as you can see. I'm very sure he has an overpair here. The river card was scary but I can't fold now.

I'm not sure what the question is, only thing that looks off to me is the min raise on the flop with the two pair.

The first hand I felt it was a little loose. Even though I put him on those hands he could easily have A7 or 87 or others I lose to. Figured I might get some comments on that.

Second hand I min-raised because I didn't want to blast him out of the hand. Sure if a club comes on the turn I have to slow down possibly, but I don't see how the turn can improve many hands unless they hit a set. Then I tried to pot commit him on the turn. The river is little scary because I figured he could have QQ (since I was sure he had an overpair) or a club.

I'm trying maximize my winnings by betting enough to win but not too much to get people to fold when they are behind. I had pushed a couple hands earlier in the night where I was way ahead on the flop. I could have just let them pay a bit to see the turn which wouldn't threaten my hand much and won more money or possibly lulled them into handing me all their chips.

There doesn't have to be a question
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

you said you thought he had over pair, so the 2 beats you as well - you're pretty close to pricing him in, and then there's the club issue. Do you think he folds the over pair for 35 but calls for 18? Pushing is goofy but that doesn't mean you min raise.

Excellent point about the 2. That's something I didn't factor in as much as I should have. Now I see why the min-raise is not the best play and a bigger raise is higher EV. Thanks.

Here is an example hand where I went too far when I could have bet less and got a call and possibly commit him more. One reason I pushed was to set up future pushes getting called. Seemed like he liked the queen though. I usually raise 33 preflop but didn't this time.
