Here's a bluff I ran today, I think all streets are debatable. I put my opponent on something like a 5 or a 7, and I was trying to represent the diamond draw. I thought I could probably stack him if I made my straight, and I figured that both of my overcard outs were probably good too. Comments?

I don't like your line. Are you saying this is how you would play Adxd or an overpair? I think your best shot at repping a hand and taking down the pot is either by raising the flop or turn. Without reads, you line looks like a terribly played AK/AQ trying to bluff, and I wouldn't be surprised if you get looked up by any pair here.

Edit: just realized he's a shorty. In general bluffing shorties are not a good idea, especially when he has almost 1/2 his stack in the middle.

If I had an overpair, I would definitely raise the crap out of him on the flop. With a diamond draw, I sometimes raise and sometimes call. It depends how much fold equity I think I have. In this particular spot, I would very likely have played Adxd exactly the same as I played this hand.

This is very relationship dependant. I think often you're pricing the opponent in if he's not weak, and you've shown the capability to make a move throughout the session.

If you've been out of line at all previous to this hand punching fold equity and what not, I'm not believing your passive chasy line here after you took the lead preflop. This would look fishy, and I would salivate at the chance to look you up for $53 into an $80 pot when the river hits.

I think my point is bet $65+ here and you'll be fine against a wide range.

That's my point. Versus a short stack with half his stack in the middle, I don't think you have a lot of fold equity, even though he looks weak as hell. From a bad player's perspective, he doesn't know you would play Axd like this, so he will probably view your river bet as a bluff, and call you with A5o.

In other words, the board is too snappy. It appears safe as it relates to the action for someone who's only looking at the board and his cards. I think your line was nice no doubt, but you almost gave the villain an excuse to call with the presented fold equity.
