Default $27 turbo - Late push to pick up dead money?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP (t2965)
    CO (t1680)
    Button (t2715)
    Hero (t1670)
    BB (t2545)
    UTG (t1925)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A, 2.
    3 folds, Button calls t200, Hero ???

    ---

The Button had been limping frequently and I had seen him folding to pushes. The BB is tight.

    There's 500 in the pot.

Would you make a push with A2 here?
If not, what hand range would you push here with?

If he limps and folds to pushes, then I shove here. Depends what you've seen him limp with and, crucially, what you've seen him raise with.

I agree. If he's limping alot of pots on the button, I would asume my ace-high was good. Many players especially when they have stacks limp on the button so they call make a small bet after the blinds check and pick up the pot. If he limps alot, its probably mid-range cards and you have the best hand or a trash ace like yours and folds the best hand

I personally dont like to push A2, it basically dominates only X2, and is easily dominated.

But you'd expect most hands that have you dominated to raise pre-flop, especially OTB in a short-handed game. Plus, shoving here might actually fold out some of the hands that do have you dominated out of concern that they are dominated themselves (if you follow).

Having thought about this some more, there is the slight issue that BTN might be sort of "limp-trapping" if people have been pushing over him regularly OR he might just get fed up with it and call you with a marginal hand, but one that has you beat. I still think a push is right given your read

Given the reads a push is probably EV+ with any two, unless one of them has a big hand.

The button may limp hands like A2-A6, and the BB may call with A8+, all of them have you dominated, as well as any PP
