Three-betting preflop in the mid-stakes.
To this point I have very rarely ever stuck in a third raise preflop, like say raising with AA/KK or any PP and if somebody reraises me I usually just will call and take a flop. I think that unless you three bet PF often it gives away the strength of your hand, basically telling them you have Aces or Kings. With that said, there was a situation that came up yesterday where I felt obliged to three bet. Beandip had called a ton of my raises in position, and he was a total fish. He was pretty easy to bet out of pots for the most part, so it wasn't a big deal.
Anyways here is the HH. http://www.pokerhand.org/?326516
We all had slightly deeper stacks than normal, and the reraiser had us both covered. His reraise was very small however and I figured that if I just called then beandip would call as well, and I didn't want to play the hand multiway and lose a lot of chips if I got outflopped, so I put in a third raise to drive beandip out and maybe I was lucky enough that the reraiser had KK or QQ and couldn't let them go, or wanted to take a flop with AK. If it was just me and the reraiser I would probably have just called his raise and gone from there, but the guy in the middle sorta complicates the hand. Is a reraise here pretty mandatory to protect my hand even if I give away that I have a monster?
