The very next hand. By the way, what do you think of this play? I was pretty convinced he didn't have the K. And he waited way too long to reraise, making me think he didn't have AA either. So 99s or that's about it would have had me.

Also, what I am finally starting to discover (i think), is that buying into tables full of large stacks, with a large stack yourself, is by far the best way to go. I used to be intimidated by large stacks thinking it would be tough for me to make money, but I think I am finally realizing that that is the point of NL Hold'Em. Having a large stack yourself, ready to double up at any minute when you see another player make a terrible mistake that you can exploit, like this.

I never know how to play at somebody after winning a large pot from them. I was first to act here, and somebody yesterday said 4x BB + 1x BB per each limper. So 4 called and I made it $2 to go. I think I made a mistake here. although, the hand before, he tried to muscle me around with a pair of 9s with a 4 kicker.

i was positive he was on the flush draw here, and yet i can't bring myself to making tough river bets after i've already put some money into the pot. is it even worth betting the river if the only times they are going to call is when they're ahead? or is it good to place a value bet out there because if it's a small amount compared to what they already put in, they will probably call?

everybody at the table seems to be gunning at me now making bad plays with bad odds hoping to catch me and double up.

yah KK i immediately regretted making that all-in. but i was pretty comfortable with the QQ one. man i just ran into some guy on major tilt. he even told me what he had, i thought he was bluffing and maybe had an overpair or set so i thought i had good odds to call. turns out, he wasnt bluffing.

aislephive, i guess theres no real point to many people on these forums. but it's made me have quite a few revelations. namely, the difference between buying in short-stacked and the max buy-in is HUGE! and when i have a large stack, i seem to be able to sniff out weakness a lot easier and i'm realizing people overvalue their hands way too much which makes it not too hard to stack people.

this hand i knew he had a jack. a mediocre jack at best. i was kind of in a risk taking mood (no flames) and figured any sensible person would fold this hand.

Generally, if you get checkraised and you hold less than top-pair its time to fold. Also, people are rarely folding after they have already checkraised you. What are you repping by this bluff here? To him, you are repping that the 2 helped you which is highly unlikely... which is why your bluff failed. Never assume that people at 25NL will lay down a hand because they won't, believe me.
