Default $10K in 100 days challenge

I decided to challenge my poker skills and try to make 10K in 100 days solely on sit n gos.

the trick to this challenge is that I was going to do it from complete scratch (50 dollars to open a partypoker account)

it is day 6 and I am doing much better than I expected. From my measily 50 dollars from Day 1. I am now up to 1.1K

my question is: What level should I be playing at this stage of my challenge? I've been playing mostly 33's with the occasional 55. What would you recommend? I play 6 hours a day, so consider that when you are thinking about my 100 day pace.

Wait, you opened a new account with $50 and are playing $33s? What is your experience with SNGs? What about with poker in general?

well when I had $50...I played $6 SnGs, my bankroll is now at 1K

I am very confident in my SnG game, and keep in mind that I now have $1k
purely from this SnG challenge, so I moved up to $33 after my bankroll reached a certain amount (I believe it was $500)

With $1000, I would play $22/$33's until you have about $2500-$3000, then I would throw in some $55s.

Hopefully this doesn't play out like those cars in the "Fast and the Furious" when they left the NO2 on for a bit too long.

Still ... good luck with your challenge.

well i think if i keep bankroll management in mind and play my game...i'll be alright

however i don't expect to continue at this pace...i really could have never anticipated this kind of early success. I'm just going to keep my head, and play my game. Hopefully i get this done.

Wow, congratulations - that sounds like an incredible heater. How many SNGs have you played over the last 6 days?

    Ride the lightning brotha.
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

Sounds like you already have a plan.

bloody hell! that is incredible! If I was you, I would just continue to do what you are doing atm. Maybe, if you do very well one day you should move up another level. If you loose - go back to the 33/55. If you win, keep on playing at that level and go down a level again if you see that you're on a loosing run.

But what I just said is probably rubbish. How the hell do you do so well at these SnG's?

i expect downswings to happen because they're going to happen, there's simply no avoiding them.

Last night, I went down to 600 through bad beats and bad plays....I was ready to tear my head out. Went to bed, got up with a fresh head and began playing my game again. I'm now back up to 1K. I'm not coming into this expecting it to be a rosegarden where I consistantly make money up to 10K...it's a marathon and I'm ready to ride the rollercoaster that will be my bankroll over these 100 days

simply put, I take advantage of other people's shortcomings. I'm not a fantastic player, but I know exactly how to play POOR players.

I play very tight aggressive at the beginning. I'll play only the best hands...and even if the flop misses me, I'll come out firing. It almost always works out, people will respect your bets and fold because of your tight table image. When the blinds reach 50/100 or 100/200.....i'll begin to make my moves and I'll significantly loosen my starting hand standards and outplay people postflop. By the time it's done to 4 people...i'm extremely LAG.

This system works best for me, and it has given me great success. I don't claim to have all the answers or the best method, that's just my 2c on how to play PartyPoker sngs...because most people will make mistakes for you, all you need to do is capitalize on them

    sanity check:
50->500 paying $5 SNGs. These pay 25/15/10. Lets say you are a short handed god with your luck box as max, and if you are ITM, your profit is 20 (sometimes you get 2nd or third) - 6 for the buy in is 14.

Lets say your ITM% is 50. So you ROI is 133%, and profit-per-sng = $8

So you played >50 SNGs in ~4 days (assuming you ran 500->1000 in the last couple days playing $33s).

So you must play 4 at once?

who said I played $5 SnGs up to 500? I started playing $11 at around $150 and $22 at around $300

Sry, from the above it's not clear whether you skipped the $11s and $22s.

So, how many have you played?

Even if you are a god, 500$ isn't even close to enough to play 33's is it?

I thought you'd need like 1500$ to be properly rolled.

For some reason I'm not worried bout NJJ. Got a feeling U R 4 REAL BIATCH.

Strategy u elaborated isn't rocket science, it's simply most profitable way of playing Party SnGo's (having grinded my roll from 200-900 playing 11$ and 22$ doing exactly what you said).

    May the downswing never come.

    May your rockets hold up.

May your suckouts come heads up.

    Amen.
