The Villian had been playing quite tight.

What would be your move on the turn, and would you call the raise PF?

Situations like this are a weakness of mine. Villain's preflop raise amount looks scary because it is 3x BB plus 1x BB for each limper, suggesting TT-AA or AK if he/she is a tight player. That said, with your chip stack, you have to call the preflop raise with JJ IMO.

I don't think the T helped Villain if my preflop hand range is correct (unless he has TT of course). I know it is SNG 101 (so somebody on 2+2 told me) to check the turn here but given the relative stack sizes I would bet something like 650 so Villain is pot committed if he/she calls. If villain calls or pushes over I think you're done with the hand.

The alternative would be to check the turn and call a small bet or fold to a big one, and if villain checks the turn fire out a blocking bet of 400 or so on the river. Honestly I'm not sure which is best.

BTW how did you manage to triple up this early?

I would think that if villian has the range you're talking here Taipan, he would raise that flop. This leads me to beleive that you are ahead and therefore I would fire again at the turn (6-700). Even if he is ahead or has sucked out, you still have outs.

I guess you're right, although I have seen tight players slowplay AA and KK on a board like this - they wait so long for hands they feel they can play that they have to slllooooowwwplay to try to get every last chip they can!

If villain is tight, although it's not impossible I doubt he would be raising 5x BB with two limpers in front with 88 or 99 (let alone 33) so I doubt we're dealing with a set. If Villain is tight I doubt he would have raised preflop with QJ and called Hero's flop bet with a gutshot and 2 overs (although again it's not impossible)

Are you thinking this is a missed AK hoping that Hero checks the turn so Villain can see a free river?

I stacked two players with KK and QQ.

precisely that! Or just an AK that can't give it up when he's beat
